Planned Location of New FirestationThe Fire Department and the city have been working on a plan to replace the current firestation. As you can see, the current station has five bays. The current firestation is 40'x90' or 3,600 s.f. The new facility is currently planned at 50' by 150' (7,500s.f.) of which 6,650s.f. would be Fire Department and 850s.f. of Ambulance facility.

Well, turns out the city is also in need of additional space. And now we have this big empty space on Highway 10. Put it all together and you have a new firestation planned for the previous Caliope Park site. You can see more on the Construction link.

This is the site plan for the previous firestation plan.

It is 50 feet wide and 150 feet long and has seven bays with one for the ambulance.

The Fire Department and the city are considering a slightly larger building, 60'x150'. This would allow both ambulances to park in one bay and allow extra room for gear, storage and projected expansion of fire department equipment. The costs of the two plans are being worked up. The city council has approved $350,000 for the project. This does not include the money already spent on site preparation.
