Senior Recreation Information

Senior Citizen Trips

Through out the seasons trips are offered exclusively for those who are 55 and older. We have gone to various places such as the Winnavegas Casino, Clay County Fair, Tour of the Orpheum Theater, the Butterfly House and numerous ladies-day out trips. We have fun touring the sights. These are relaxing day trips which are enjoyed by all. Transportation is provided by mini vans, which are very accessible to the seniors. For information on upcoming trips or to sign up contact the Hawarden Activities office or the Hawarden Senior Center.

Adult Education Classes

Throughout the year, a variety of adult classes are offered for the public, which in the past have included: a variety of computer courses, beginning and intermediate quilting, food preparation, yoga for beginners, how to create your own Christmas letter, crafts such as painting decorative rocks for your garden, and a carving wood class.
