Hawarden Police Department Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Hawarden Police Department to make Hawarden and the surrounding area a better place to live, shop, and visit by building a partnership based on fair, courteous, efficient public service and respect. We are committed to the prevention of crime and the safety of our citizens. We will strive to continue to develop strategies to increase our effectiveness and assist the community in problem solving. We nurture the public's trust and will strive daily to hold ourselves to the highest standards of performance, integrity, and ethics.
To fulfill our mission, the Hawarden Police Department offers the following services:
- Child Fingerprinting and ID Program.
- Job Shadow Program for High School Students.
- House and Business Watches.
- Public speaking for community and civic groups.
- Safety, Drug, and Alcohol talks for West Sioux Students.
- Adult Fingerprinting.
- Salvation Army Welfare Assistance.
- Crime Prevention/Education.
- Northwest Iowa Drug Task Force.
- Vehicle Lockouts.
- Speedometer Checks.
We also propose to establish the following programs for the community:
- Bicycle safety programs.
- Child Safety Seat Inspections and giveaway program.
