Mike DeBruin, Chief of Police

Mike has been with the Hawarden Police Department since May of 1990. Mike graduated from West Sioux High School in May of 1982 and attended Northwest Iowa Community College, graduating in December of 1991 with a degree in Business Management. Mike is a 1992 graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.

John Millikan, Sergeant

John has been with the Hawarden Police Department since March of 1991. John graduated High School in South Sioux City, Nebraska in 1988 and attended The University of South Dakota, graduating in December of 1992 with a degree in Criminal Justice. John is a 1993 graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.

Chad Krebs, Patrolman

Chad has been with the Hawarden Police Department since May of 1990. Chad attended High School at Sioux City Heelan, graduating in 1983 and then attended Western Iowa Tech Community College, graduating in 1989 with a degree in Police Science. Chad is 1990 graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.

Jill Ohm, Patrolman

Jill has been with the Hawarden Police Department since May of 2004. Jill attended High School in LeMars, graduating in 1995 and then attending University of Nebraska Omaha, graduating in 2000 with a degree in Physical Education. Jill is also a certified EMT-I. Jill is a 2005 graduate of the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.

Brent Huyser, Reserve Patrolman

Brent Huyser has been with the Hawarden Police Department since September of 2003 as a reserve officer. Brent is an Inwood native, graduating from West Lyon Community High School in May of 2000. Brent then attended Iowa Lakes Community College from September 2001 to May of 2003, obtaining an Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice. During his time at Iowa Lakes, Brent interned with the Lyon County Sheriff.
