Child Safety Seat Inspection |
Members of the Hawarden Police Department and Hawarden Ambulance recently conducted a child safety seat checkup. At the event a total of 24 seats were checked. Out of the 24 seats that were checked, all were found to have some sort of misuse identified and were properly re-installed. In addition, out of the 24 seats that were checked, fifteen were replaced due to recalls, defects in the seat, and seats that were mounted in vehicles when the vehicle was in an accident.
All of the seats were checked by certified child safety seat technicians from the Hawarden Police Department and Hawarden Ambulance. The seats were checked for any recalls and for proper installation. By checking and replacing any seat that had been recalled or in a previous crash, is a continuing commitment to the safety of the children within our community and the surrounding communities. New child seats were provided with funds from Healthy Community Initiative. If anyone would like to have their seat checked please feel to call the Hawarden Police Department at 551-4430 or email the Police Department. You can find more information from Blank's Childrens Hospital about the infant and car seat requirements in Iowa.
