Your other TV's will still receive basic cable service without a set top box.Do I need a set top box for digital TV?Yes. The signal received by our system will need to be decoded before your TV can read it. The box provides this function. It sits between the cable and your TV like a VCR. Usually you set your TV to channel 3 and use the remote control on the digital box. The remote included with the set top box can be set up to work with your existing TV. Why do I need a telephone line connected to my set top box?The phone line is used for billing. Once per week a signal is sent to your box through the phone line which gathers the information we need to prepare your bill. It will keep track of Pay-per-view information and does NOT collect any other information. A separate line does not need to be installed. The set top box is not continuously connected over the phone line. Our technicians will instruct you on ways that your current line can be connect to the set top box.
