Whereas, Several citizens have raised serious safety concerns on the block of Avenue L between 10th and 11th Streets and 11th Street west of Avenue L when vehicles are parked on the Street; and,
Whereas, The City prohibits parking in other locations to prevent other serious safety concerns; and,
Whereas, Recommendations have been made regarding the areas listed above a potential solutions to the majority of the present safety problems.
BE IT ORDAINED By the City of Hawarden City Council as follows:
Section 1. Amendment. Chapter 9.03 ADDITIONAL STATIONARY TRAFFIC REGULATIONS (PARKING) is hereby amended as follows:

9.03.01 Prohibited Parking. Parking of any nature shall be prohibited in the following areas within the City:

14. Parking on the east side of Avenue L between 10th and 11th Streets and on the west side of Avenue L for the 100ft south of the SW corner of Avenue L and 11th Street.
15. Parking on the south side of 11th Street for the 50ft west of the western edge of Avenue L.

Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof, not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval, and publication as provided by law.
