BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Hawarden, Iowa as follows:
Section 1. Amendment. Chapter 12.12 of the Hawarden Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding the text shown below:

For the following categories of electric users: 12.12.10(c), 12.12.020 (c), 12.12.030(c) the City will offer the rebates listed below for participation in the City's load management system, based on the appliances that are load managed.
Electric Hot Water Heaters $2.50 per month for each electric hot water heater.
Electric Central Air Unit $5.00 per month per unit only for the months of June, July, August, & September.

Note: New text proposed to be added is blue, while existing text proposed to be deleted is red. "***" indicates sections of the Title or Chapter that is not shown and that is not proposed to be changed, except for any necessary renumbering.
Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Severability. If any section, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision, or part thereof, not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law. Billing at the revised rates shall commence immediately at the start of the next complete billing cycle starting with Route one.
