ORDINANCE NO. 577

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEWER RATES

Be It Ordained by the City Council of Hawarden, Iowa that:

Section 1. Amendment. Section 12.32.060 of the Hawarden Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

12.32.060 Sewer Rental Charges. The following sewer rental charges shall apply.

Class A. Residential:   Single Family, Multi-Family Apartments:
Minimum Charge: $12.00 Per Month
Includes the first 400 cu. ft. of water used
Next 800 cu. ft. water used   $0.50 per 100 cu. ft.
Over 1,200 cu. ft. water used   $ .00 per 100 cu. ft.
Class B. Commercial:
Minimum Charge:   $14.00 Per Month
Includes the first 400 cu. ft. of water used
Next 9,600 cu. ft. water used   $0.50 per 100 cu. ft.
Over 10,000 cu. ft. water used   $0.00 per 100 cu. ft.

Class I. Industrial:  Only by special contract.

The sewer rentals shall be collected with the next utility payment after enactment of the ordinance codified in the section.

Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.

Section 3. Severability. If any section, provision, or part of the Ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

Section 4. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage, approval and publication as required by law. Billing at the revised rate shall commence immediately at the next complete billing cycle starting with Route One.
