Mayor Pro Tem Kallsen called the meeting to order at 7:00pm.
Present: Kallsen, Harvey, Dorhout, Woodley, Cauwels
Staff Present: Craig Coffey, City Administrator
Also Present: Stuart Katz, Mari Kaptain-Dahlin (Mercy), Kathy Jacobs, Mike Wiggins, Matt Hummel, and Bob Jaminet from the hospital.
As everyone gathered, the City Offices could not comfortably sit everyone involved. The meeting was adjourned to the Hawarden Public Library and re-convened there.
Mayor Pro Tem Kallsen opened the meeting and introduced the only item on the agenda.
1. Working session with Hospital Board and staff and the City of Hawarden Council and staff to discuss various current and future hospital matters.
Hospital Board Chairperson Mike Wiggins and Hospital Administrator Stuart Katz covered some current issues facing the hospital including a critical access designation.
Previously submitted questions were discussed and then each council member was given a chance to ask questions. Discussion ensued about a variety of issues for approximately 2hrs. No action was taken.
Moved by Harvey/Cauwels to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously.
