The Hawarden City Council

The City of Hawarden currently operates a Mayor - Administrator form of government. The original charter for Hawarden listed us as a Mayor-Council form of government. That was changed by action of the council in 1999 when we hired a city administrator and turned over a large part of the day to day operation of the city to him.

The mayor and five council members are elected "at-large" for four year terms. We have a city administrator to provide professionalism and consistency to Hawarden City Government and it's Utilities.

The council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of every month in the Hawarden City Offices.
