Fishing at the South Pit Recreation Area
This area is located on the southwest edge of Hawarden. The 300 acre recreation site contains a 40 acre lake. The (no wake) lake has been stocked primarily with crappies, blue gills, bass, and walleye. This area contains a boat ramp, open shelter available for picnicking and future plans for campsites.

If you forgot your fishing gear or licence don’t worry. Everything you need is available locally.
